Our Purpose
Our Purpose as members of The Body of Christ is to Worship God and to love the world as He so loved us. We must be willing to stand up for His word and His truth. We should be armed and equipt with the Gospel of Salvation, and be willing to share that Gospel with anyone that does not know Christ. We want to love God to the fullest of our capabilities and to love our fellow man.
(John 3:16; Mark 16:15; 2 Corinthians 5:17-21; Matthew 22:36-39)
Godhead
We believe in God The Father, The Son of God, and The Holy Spirit of God. The bible tells that these three agree in one.
We believe in the ultimate authority of God the Father.
The Word of God tells us that Jesus is also God, and that in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. Jesus is the image of the invisible God, and everything in Heaven and Earth was created by Him and for Him.
We believe that The Holy Spirit (The Comforter) proceeded out of The Father. This Spirit in-dwells inside of the believer. He bears witness of Jesus the Son of God, and that Spirit of God seals us as believers into the Body of Christ.
(1 John 5:7; Hebrews 1:8-10; Colossians 1:15-19, 2:9; John 15:16)
Salvation
We believe that salvation comes by hearing, and beliving the Gospel. It is through faith alone, and God's grace alone, and trusting in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross.
The wrath of God is turned away from us by trusting in the shed blood of Jesus, and by our faith in that blood we receive all remission of sins. The Bible says that it is not by our works or good deeds, it is simply the gift of God. We are saved by fully trusting that Jesus died for our sins, according to scripture, that He was buried, and that He was raised up on the third day, according to scripture. We understand that none of this is possible without the faithfulness of Christ, and His perfect walk while here on earth.
We believe that once someone truly believes that Gospel that they cannot lose that salvation, and that they are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise until the day of redemption.
(Romans 3:19-25; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 15:7-11; Ephesians 1:13-14, 2:8-9, 4:30)
Baptism
We believe in following through with, 'Believer's Baptism' after someone believes the Gospel. That they should be baptized 'in the Name of Jesus' by submerssion in water. However, we do not believe that this is part of salvation but rather that it is the answering of a good conscience towards God.
We believe in the baptism that Jesus came to baptize believers with, and that is the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Jesus before he departed to sit at the right hand of The Father said, 'John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.'
Paul tells us that we are baptized into the body of Christ by the Spirit. This Holy Spirit baptism happens the moment that you believe the Gospel. It is the Spirit that washes, regenerates, and renews us.
We believe that adding water baptism as part of salvation removes the full trust that must be placed in the shed blood and finished work of The Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Peter 3:21; Acts 1:5, 11:16; Titus 3:4-5)
Gifts of The Holy Spirit
We believe that the sign gifts that were to be a sign to the Jews have now ceased. We do not believe that you must speak in an unkown tongue to show evidence of the Holy Spirit within you.
However, we do not believe that all gifts have ceased. We still believe that the Holy Sprit still leads and guides the believer, thus producing the fruit of God within them. We believe that the Spirit still divides out different gifts to different believers as He sees fit. These gifts include: Faith, teaching, ministry, exortation (encouraging others), giving, showing mercy, wisdom, knowledge, and the diserning of spirits.
We believe that these are the gifts that we should all as believers seek to receive.
(Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:8-11, 13:8)
Bible
We believe that God has kept His promise that He would preserve His word for all generations. We firmly hold the position that God has preserved His word in the King James Bible. We believe that the Authorized King James Bible is the absolute authority today, and that it is inspired, infallible, and God breathed.
(Psalm 12:6-7, 138:2; 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16)
Rapture
Finally, we look for the imminent return of Christ to meet His bride, the true church, in the air and His subsequent bodily return to Earth.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Acts 1:11)
